Fakermaker Live in Sheffield: Sold-Out Oasis Tribute at Wadsley Bridge WMC

Crowd dancing joyfully in a dimly lit venue with colorful lights. Drinks on a table in front, vibrant atmosphere with laughter and movement.
Those lads don't know what they've let themselves in for do they?

Our Oasis tribute band Fakermaker returned to Wadsley Bridge WMC for another sold-out show. Read about the night, the crowd, and the chaos that made it unforgettable.

🎤 Introduction

This was our second time performing our Oasis tribute, Fakermaker, at Wadsley Bridge WMC — and the second time we’ve sold it out.The last gig there was magic, so we couldn’t wait to do it again.

This one had a twist though — our lead singer couldn’t make it. Luckily, Michael Carling from Biblical (another brilliant Oasis tribute) stepped up.We’ve known Michael for years, and we knew he’d put on a great show and get the crowd going.

🏟️ Arrival at the Venue

Wadsley Bridge WMC is huge — easily one of the biggest working men’s clubs we’ve ever played.Big stage, great lighting rig, and a full house of people sinking pints and buzzing for the night ahead.

Friday crowds can be tough; they’ve worked all week and just want to let off steam. But that’s exactly the kind of crowd we love.

🍗 Pre-Show

With Wadsley’s in-house DJ handling warm-up duties, we grabbed food from Munchies Chicken over the road — top-tier takeaway.Michael took the time to perfect his hair (priorities, right?).

I went for the Nashville Burger and peri fries — highly recommended, but definitely spicy!

🎶 The Main Event

By showtime, the crowd was ready to explode.Last year we opened with Rock ’n’ Roll Star, but lately we’ve been kicking things off with Roll With It — it gets everyone moving straight away and lets us save Rock ’n’ Roll Star for the encore.

From the first chord, the room came alive. Michael absolutely nailed the Liam Gallagher vibe — attitude, vocals, stance — and the crowd loved it.

I hope they've not been worn!

🔥 Crowd Dynamics

The first half built steadily — drinks flowing, voices warming up, anticipation rising.By the interval you could feel it: this was going to be one of those nights.Though no one could have predicted what came next…

🎛️ Atmosphere & Sound

The energy was off the charts. Michael rocked a dark-blue parka, pure Liam style — fair play to him, it was roasting up there!

Lee channelled Noel’s Don’t Look Back in Anger look with his red Epiphone 335, brown track top, and RAF Mod roundel.I used my Boss wireless system with the Gibson Firebird, which meant I could actually move around a bit.

Our PA filled the room beautifully — loud enough to hit the back wall without deafening anyone (though let’s be honest, most of the regulars probably lost their hearing in the 90s).Steve’s walnut-maple kit sounded thunderous, as always.

How does he still keep in time with that on?

😂 Personal Highlights

Halfway through the second set, we clocked a hen night down front — and things took a turn!

Next thing we knew, knickers were flying onto the stage. On closer look, they had our faces printed on them from our Bingley Live gig!

Then came face masks of the bride-to-be, which — for reasons still unclear — ended up on our faces. The crowd absolutely lost it.

Morning Glory Knickers will come in handy somewhere down the line I'm sure...

🙌 Post-Show Vibes

We expected a lively night, but this one topped it.After the encore we came off stage buzzing, laughing, and shaking our heads at what had just happened.

Massive shout-out to all the lads down the front who sang every word — proper legends.Moments like that remind you why we do this. Check out Champagne Supernova here:

💬 Conclusion

If you weren’t there, you missed a belter.Nights like that show what live music is all about — the connection, the chaos, and that unbeatable sense of togetherness.

After the gig, Michael wandered into the crowd and joked,

“Am I too late for the Oasis tribute?”One lad replied,“You’ve missed ’em, mate — best thing ever!”

That’ll do us. 👊

This is what happens when there's a hen do in!
